Applications, Checklists, Permits & Inspections

All building permits are now online. Please visit the New Online Permitting System to submit an application.  If you have issues using Viewpoint please contact the office for assistance.  

Permits are required for:

• New homes
• Additions
• Renovations
• Refinishing basements
• Siding
• Windows
• Roofing
• Chimneys
• Demolition
• Pools (above and in-ground)
• Signs
• Sheds (if larger than 200 square feet)
• Wood stoves
• Pellet stoves
• Gas fireplaces and inserts.

You do not need a permit for a fence unless it is to be 6 feet tall or higher. Contact the office for further information on fences.

Inspections

Building Inspections - You can request an inspection in Viewpoint.  Call the office if you need assistance.   For roofing, windows, siding, solar, and weatherization, please fill out the "Contractor's Affidavit of Completed Work" linked below.

Plumbing & Gas inspections are done Monday through Friday, 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm. You can request an inspection in Viewpoint.  Call the office if you need assistance.

Electrical inspections are done on Monday and Wednesday from 8 am to noon. You can request an inspection in Viewpoint.  Call the office if you need assistance.
