SMOC Fuel Assistance 2020-2021
Fuel Assistance has been EXTENDED and may defray the cost of heat between November 1, 2020 through April 30, 2020 for eligible clients and is based on income.
Note - If you were approved for Fuel Assistance last year, you should receive a pre-printed application form in August, directly from SMOC (South Middlesex Opportunity Council) for the upcoming heating season. To avoid delays in receiving your benefit, forms should be completed and returned as soon as possible. However, if you are a Mendon resident you may want to have a staff member review your re-certification or if you have not received your form yet, please contact the Mendon Senior Center at 508-478-6175.
SMOC can help....but Please don’t wait until you are out of oil. The Mendon Senior Center staff is available to assist with the intake of applications for Mendon families, senior citizens and individuals under the administration of SMOC (South Middlesex Opportunity Council).
If your gross household income falls within the approved limits listed below you may qualify for fuel assistance as well as discounts on electric and telephone bills. Call the Mendon Senior Center at 508/478-6175 to request an instruction checklist and to make a free confidential appointment. Outreach worker Janet Hubener is so available to provide home visits. Please note- anyone who is eligible for fuel assistance is automatically eligible to use the Mendon Food Pantry located at the center. The Pantry is currently open the first Monday of the month from 9:00 – noon. Call for more information.
