Planning Board:

The Planning Board conducts all statutory planning and permitting functions promptly and with unbiased professionalism. Our goal is to foster community pride, a sense of place and understanding, and confidence about the town's future direction. We also advocate for sustainable growth in order to improve the quality of human life and lessen the burdens on wildlife and natural resources.

Planning Department/Town Planner:

The Planning Department and the Town Planner support the Planning Board in reviewing applications, coordinating interdepartmental and consultant reviews, and offering guidance to property owners and business owners looking to build and/or do business in Mendon. Further, the Town Planner's responsibilities include:

• Providing a wide range of support to the Boards and Committees of Mendon.
• Engaging in long-range planning for Mendon.
• Maintaining and further developing the Town's Zoning By-Laws and Subdivision Rules & Regulations.
• Other community improvements and fulfilling various State and federally required reporting and monitoring functions.
