SolarizeMass Mendon has been extended to

October 31st!

Dear Mendon friends,

The SolarizeMass Mendon program has been extended through October 31st, because of the overwhelming interest in the program by Mendon residents. Mendon has reached the tier three level and is climbing towards tier four to offer even great savings. Mendon is fortunate to be one of seventeen communities selected to be a Solarize Massachusetts town. If you are interested in learning about installing a solar PV system for your Mendon home or business, but need more information, guidance and more cost effective options, now is the time! If you are considering a solar PV system, we need to hear from you. This requires NO obligation on your part, but we need to hear from you soon, since the program ends on October 31st.

Mendon has selected SolarFlair to be Mendon's solar PV installer!

SolarFlair will handle all the solar PV installations in Mendon through the Solarize Mass program offering exceptional pricing, because of bulk purchasing and partnering with the Mendon Solarize Mass voluteer team. SolarFalir is an experienced solar installer with excellent customer service. Garrett Sprague is the SolarFlair rep for Mendon and can handle your site specific questions. He will also offer free site assessments and price estimates. He can be contacted at this email address: solarflairmendon.solarflair@gmail.com.

SolarFlair is locally based out of Framingham. SolarFlair President Matt Arner said, "SolarFlair would like to thank MassCEC and the Town of Mendon for selecting us as the installer for the Mendon program. We believe Solarize Mass will be instrumental in helping Massachusetts acheive its goal of 250MW of installed solar capacity by 2017. SolarFlair feels strongly that the success of the program will continue Massachusetts' commitment to its ever-growing green economy. We are proud to be a part of such a revolutionary initiative."

Mendon, as a state-qualified Green Community, has a terrific opportunity to take advantage of a state energy-saving program called Solarize Massachusetts, in partnership with the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC) and the MA Department of Energy Resources (DOER).  The program provides towns a way to install solar PV systems in bulk for both residences and businesses, thereby keeping the costs down and the permitting process more streamlined. Money is also saved by local volunteers and state technical experts educating people on the solar program and eliminating the need for the installer to spend money on marketing. Since solar PV is a new concept for most people, Solarize Mass hopes to answer people questions, detail the financial benefits for you, explain the statewide economic benefits through job growth and describe the environmental benefits.

One option is purchasing, which is an excellent investment. Through the Solarize Mass program, SolarFalir is predicting a 2-4 year payback and then your electric bills continue to be reduced or eliminated (depending on the size of your system) and you would continue receiving payments for producing renewable power through the Solar Renewable Energy Certificates (SRECs) for at least ten years.

Another option is a power purchase agreement (PPA) or leasing where the solar PV is installed at your home or business at no cost to you and you sign a contract to buy your electricity at a reduced rate for a set number of years. You save money on day one with this option and are using clean energy, but do not receive SREC payments.

There will also be financing available for those who want to purchase, but do not have all the funds up front.

The advantages of installing solar PV systems are: reducing or eliminating electricity costs, improving home values, and helping the environment.  The advantages of participating in Solarize Massachusetts are: lowering installation costs, streamlining permitting, and utilizing the current generous federal and state credits, state rebates and SRECs (Solar Renewable Energy Certificates).

Interested?  Sign up for a free, no obligation estimate by visiting the SolarFlair website and clicking on the Mendon tab at the top of the page: www.solarflair.com or reply to me or Garrett (above), and include your name, street address (and mailing address, if different), phone number and email address.   This information will only be used to contact you about the program and will not be shared with anyone else. If you know of others who would be interested, please let them know about the program. The more people who participate, the cheaper the solar PV systems will be for everyone! Expressing an interest does not commit you to anything.
