The Conservation Commission is a volunteer, five-member board.
Any construction requiring a building permit in which digging, filling or altering of property is under jurisdiction of the Conservation Commission. You may not even realize there is a wetland on or near your property. Please fill out and submit the Jurisdictional Project Determination form found under the Forms section below.
Responsibilities
The Conservation Commission's reponsibility is to administer the Wetlands Protection Act (Massachusetts General Law Chapter 131 Section 40).
A WETLANDS PROTECTION BY-LAW WAS PASSED BY VOTERS AT THE APRIL 10, 2012 SPECIAL TOWN MEETING. IT DOES NOT BECOME EFFECTIVE UNTIL APPROVED BY THE ATTORNEY GENERAL CLICK ON LINK BELOW TO VIEW PROPOSED BYLAW BEFORE AMENDMENTS.

- May 9 & 23, June 13 & 27 (will be posted with Town Clerk 48 hours prior to meetings)
Meetings are held in the lower level of Town Hall in the Planning Board Meeting Room.
MASSWILDLIFE ADVISORY
GRANT APPLICATION OPEN FOR PRIVATE LANDOWNERS
The Division of Fisheries and Wildlife (DFW) invites private landowners who want to actively manage their property to benefit wildlife to apply for a Landowner Incentive Program (LIP) grant. This Program is designed to reimburse private landowners up to 75% of the total project cost of managing lands to improve habitat for declining wildlife species across the Commonwealth. Individual private landowners, sportsmen’s clubs, land trusts, and other conservation organizations are encouraged to apply to the program.
