The board is run by three elected members. They are elected by the towns residents annually for a three year term. They have various responsibilities such as
- Inspecting food establishments.
- Conducting tobacco compliance checks
- Enforcement of Title V of the State Environmental Code including examine sites, witness perc testing, issues certificates of compliances and review and approve septic plans.
- Overseeing of the Towns trash and recycling program
- Receive and responds to complaints regarding housing, sanitary sewage disposal, hazardous materials/waste and solid waste, air quality noises and nuisances.
- Review and enforce the board private well regulations.
- Issues varies license and permits.
The Board meets every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. in the lower town hall.
